PORTLAND, Ore. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, is urging boaters to verify boat ramp availability at Willamette Valley reservoirs this fall and winter. Scheduled drawdowns and lower water levels are impacting access at several ramps.

Most reservoirs maintain at least one low-water ramp open, but exceptions include Cougar and Blue River. Lookout Point and Green Peter reservoirs are being drawn down below ramp levels. Green Peter is already inaccessible, and Lookout Point is expected to follow by late October.

Some ramps are temporarily closed to support endangered fish recovery or for earthquake safety measures. Others close seasonally as reservoirs transition from conservation to flood management operations.
