WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) - The case against a man accused of trying to lure children into a van with candy in Warren has been dismissed.

Criminal child enticement charges against Victor Godfrey were presented to a Trumbull County grand jury but remanded back to Warren Municipal Court. On Thursday, that case was dismissed.

The reason for the dismissal is unknown.

Police arrested Godfrey in June after a woman reported that he had been following her daughters in a van, then asked if they wanted candy and a ride.

A police report stated that the girls ran home and told their mother, who called police.

At the time, Godfrey, who police said smelled of alcohol and had a blood-alcohol content of .146, denied trying to pick up the children, saying they must have confused him with a sex offender who
