SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) — Former Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright is facing more than 60 state ethics charges after allegedly spending over $17,000 in taxpayer money on unauthorized purchases, according to newly released documents from the State Ethics Commission.

The charges come in addition to federal charges Wright is already facing. A 19-page document from the commission details how Wright allegedly used his county-issued credit card at more than 100 restaurants and stores for personal purchases.

According to the documents, Wright bought 92 packs of cigarettes at Dollar General with this county-issued card. He also reportedly spent more than $1,300 in the Apple App Store on games, including Huntwise, Ramp Car Jumping and Royal Match.
