MELFA, Va. — A woman is in jail and charged with malicious wounding after she allegedly shot someone on Sunday in Melfa.
According to the Accomack County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called out to the Pine Ridge Drive area in Melfa at about 9:40 p.m. on Sept. 28 for the report of a gunshot victim.
They discovered a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at the scene. He was taken to Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital and then airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. The Accomack County Sheriff's Office said he is currently listed in stable condition.
Sheriff's deputies said that following an investigation, a warrant was obtained for 30-year-old Keshiana Nicole Johnson of Melfa for malicious wounding. She is now incarcerated in the Accomack County Jail and was denied bond.
