DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) -- Already reeling from the state and federal cuts earlier this year, local food banks are bracing for the worst with the federal shutdown.
The Foodbank in Dayton and its many subsidiaries like Fairborn Fish are starting to feel the strain of budget cuts and are preparing for what this government shutdown could mean in the long run.
After news of a shutdown reached local food banks and pantries yesterday, questions started running through the heads of organizers of what was to come.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is the main distributor of food on the federal level. The Dayton Foodbank said it has already lost millions in food shipments from initial cuts.
