SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield celebrated the opening of new supportive housing units at 275 Chestnut, aimed at providing affordable homes for chronically homeless individuals.

The development, created by Home City Development Inc., features 29 rental units, with 23 designated for homeless individuals through a partnership with the Mental Health Association.
The project repurposes the first two floors of the former YMCA building to offer dignified housing to the community's most vulnerable residents.
