LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Most of us will never know what it feels like to be in the line of duty, but for recruits at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Academy, that reality starts in training.
8 News Now cameras were allowed inside the academy as LVMPD demonstrated one of the most grueling challenges new recruits must face on their way to becoming officers.
"They don't realize how difficult this academy experience is going to be for them. If I could tell any recruit that's signing up we're taking you as a civilian, a citizen that's never had an experience like this before, and we're essentially turning you into what I would call a superhero," LVMPD Lieutenant Joshua Stark said.
