MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Affordable housing can be hard to come by in the Bluff City.

Memphis has a shortage of at least 30,000 units, according to the National Low Income Housing Coalition.

Advocates said our community can't afford to lose good-quality homes.

Two separate fires tore through the Sterling Townhomes off of Raines Road in May and June, according to the property management company.

A partner for Multi-South Management Services told a board on Wednesday that insurance challenges have led to delays.

"We believe the original insurance policy that was in place here was written incorrectly," said Alex Shores, accounting manager for the property management company.
