ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - More work to replace DeKalb County’s crumbling water infrastructure will begin next week.

The Dunwoody Knoll Water Main Replacement Project is scheduled to begin on Monday to replace more than two and a half miles of water pipes along Chamblee Dunwoody Road between Roberts Drive and Redfield Road.

“This water main is like a thorn,” said Rocco Sinisgalli. “It breaks two or three times a year since I’ve been here for four years.”

John Green, who’s lived along Chamblee Dunwoody Road, has dealt with water main issues for seven years.

“They [water main breaks] start sort of at the top of the hill, and when they break, water comes rushing down the street,” said Green.

The project is one of many water main replacement projects, part of the county’s $4 bill
