BROWNSVILLE, Brooklyn (PIX11) --- Police are searching for an 11-year-old autistic Brooklyn boy who has been missing for around three weeks after receiving a tip about his disappearance this week, according to sources.

The Administration for Children's Services called the NYPD on Wednesday to conduct a wellness check at the boy's Brownsville home on Howard Avenue, but the child was not in the apartment, police said Friday.

Officers found the boy's mom in the unkept apartment and took her to the hospital for evaluation, sources said. The mom has not been charged.

The home has been sealed off as a crime scene while authorities work to determine if there is anything suspicious about the boy's disappearance, sources said.
