LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The City of Lincoln is inviting families to attend the second annual Halloween Swearing-In .

The Lincoln Police Department, Lincoln Fire and Rescue and City Council encourages kids of all ages to dress up as their favorite first responder for the free event at the Public Safety Center, 6601 Pine Lake Road, on Thursday, Oct. 23.

Police officers will be sworn into LPD, and firefighters will be sworn into LFR by the city council members. Children in other costumes are still welcome to attend and be sworn in to either department.

The city will have two 45-minute sessions – from 6 to 6:45 p.m. and 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. LPD and LFR equipment will be on display for tours and photos, including historical LPD Dodge Diplomat, the LPD Command Post, LFR Fire Engines and more.
