A football club has been left counting the cost of a break-in after thieves forced entry into its clubhouse and storage units using an angle grinder.
Rochester United chairman Matt Hume says the club is “devastated” after discovering its ground in Strood had been ransacked over night.
He was alerted around 6.30am this morning (October 3) when staff arrived to open up and found a gate padlock on the floor at its stadium in Rede Court Road.
“Straight away it was clear we’d been broken into,” he told KentOnline.
“The locks were all done and on camera we can see three people going through the place with an angle grinder.”
