DENVER (KDVR) -- The $5.7 million reconstruction of the Walden-Jackson County Airport's 5,900-foot-long runway has reached completion.
The Colorado Department of Transportation and the agency's Division of Aeronautics announced Friday the project had rebuilt the runway "from the ground up" with a stronger pavement base, improved the runway's surface and upgraded safety markings.
The airport located in the town of Walden serves as a "vital gateway" to northwestern Colorado, said the agencies in a press release.
