KINGSTON, N.Y. — A state Supreme Court justice has dismissed slander lawsuits brought by employees of the Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency against Legislator Joseph Maloney.
In identical decisions dated Sept. 24, state Supreme Court Justice Sharon Graff said brothers Charles Whittaker and William Whittaker failed to provide any evidence that Maloney said anything about the two that could be deemed slanderous.
Graff had earlier dismissed claims by the Whittakers of “negligent infliction of emotional distress” by Maloney.
Charles Whittaker is director of operations and compliance at the Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency. William Whittaker is a grade 5 maintenance mechanic.
