LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Louisville Metro Police have made an arrest in connection to Friday's nonfatal shooting near Fairdale.

Just after 11 a.m. officers were called out to the 9000 block of W Manslick Road, where they found a man who had been shot in the leg.

The victim was taken to UofL Hospital for treatment, and police said his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

According to court documents, Alberto Gonzalez, 28, got into a verbal argument with the victim, pulled out a gun, and fired it toward the man, injuring him.

Gonzalez was later taken into custody near Outer Loop and 3rd Street Road, which is not far from the shooting.

Detectives say Gonzalez admitted to firing the weapon, claiming it was self-defense, and discarding it after he left the scene.
