Columbia Supreme held its first Basketball All-Star Classic at Oakland Middle School on Saturday afternoon to raise money for a new scholarship fund.

The event featured a door raffle and opportunities for attendees to compete on the court in three basketball events, which were three-point shots, King or Queen of the court and Hot Shot.

Two basketball teams faced off in the main event. The teams included student athletes, former basketball players and former basketball professionals.

Columbia Mayor Barbara Buffaloe attended the event. KOMU 8 anchor Evie Allen served as the emcee.

Anthony Johnson, founder of Columbia Supreme, said the purpose of the event was to unveil the Heavenleigh Scholarship Fund. The scholarship was created in honor of Heavenleigh Humes , who was a parent of a c
