A 16-year-old girl who was studying at St John Rigby College in Wigan "fought to the very end" after being diagnosed with two deadly forms of cancer in just three years. Faith Shone, from Culcheth near Warrington , tragically died in January earlier this year after a three year battle with the disease.

Faith was 13 when she was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma after discovering a lump on her thigh. She underwent intense chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery to remove the cancer, and was given the "all clear" at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in June 2022.
