JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) — The 52nd annual National Storytelling Festival wrapped up Sunday in Jonesborough, and although official numbers aren't in yet, organizers said this year's event had a great turnout after being cancelled last year due to Hurricane Helene.
More than 40 tale-spinners took the stage in 10 different tents throughout downtown to tell tales of folktales, myths, legends, fables and personal stories over the three-day festival.
The event typically draws guests from all 50 states and several countries.
Organizers say there's just something about being in Tennessee's oldest town in the fall that makes the event special, not to mention it's the gold standard of the growing art of storytelling events.
