LAURENS COUNTY, Ga. — A 15-year-old West Laurens High School student died after an overnight crash.
According to a release from Georgia State Patrol, around 12:45 a.m., a green Ford Ranger was traveling north on State Route 31, just south of State Route 117. A red Kia Soul was also driving on State Route 31, traveling south near Rentz.
The release said that, "for an unknown reason," the driver crossed the center line and crashed into the car head-on. GSP said DUI is suspected in this case.
The Georgia State Patrol confirmed Isaiah Freeman, a West Laurens High School student, died in the collision.
The release said the crash caused the Kia Soul to leave the roadway, while the Ford Ranger flipped upside down.
GSP said Freeman was sitting in the passenger seat was pronounced dead at the
