Longueuil police have turned to the public in an effort to determine whether there are other victims connected with a sexual assault suspect, a search they allege could go back more than 50 years.

Police said in a statement that Marc Gagnon, now 69, was arrested Sept. 29 in connection with sexual offences committed between 1970 and 1990 in the St-Hubert sector of Longueuil and in Montreal.

Gagnon faces eight sex-related criminal charges including gross indecency, indecent exposure and sexual assault.

Investigators suspect other assaults over five decades — in Longueuil or elsewhere in Quebec — are connected. On Monday they made public photos of Gagnon dating from 1980, 2012 and 2025.
