TIPTON COUNTY, Tenn. - Officials are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Tipton County, Sheriff Shannon Beasley said Monday.

"Deputies, EMS, and Tipton County Fire are on the scene of an officer-involved shooting in the 7000 block of Richardson Landing Rd.," Sheriff Beasley posted to his Facebook page. "District Attorney Mark Davidson has requested the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) to investigate the scene, as is protocol for such situations. The scene is secure and there is no threat to area residents."

The TBI said their preliminary information showed that deputies were called to Richardson Landing for an altercation between two brothers. When they arrived, TBI said, deputies got into a short foot chase with one of the men, which led to a mobile home on the property
