It’s Fire Prevention Week in Saskatchewan, and the Weyburn Fire Department is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association in spreading safety information surrounding lithium-ion batteries.
Deputy Fire Chief with the WFD Mike Wock explains that these batteries are found around most people's homes, including cell phones, cordless devices, and power tools. Almost every rechargeable battery is a lithium-ion battery.

Wock says the messaging this year falls under two main categories, safe usage and proper disposal.
