LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

A major road in Jeffersontown, Kentucky is closed Tuesday afternoon after a collapse caused by flooding.

The City of Jeffersontown posted just after 4 p.m. photos of the collapse on one lane of Plantside Drive.

"I got a call from one of my employees going home at 3:30 and said, Jimmy might want to come out and look at Plantside. It's got a little buckle on the asphalt. As soon as we showed up, the right lane collapsed over here," said Jimmy Franconia, City of Jeffersontown, Director of Public Works.

By the time WLKY NewsChopper got to the scene around 5 p.m., the entire roadway had collapsed.

Officials said the collapse was caused by flooding in the area.
