NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Nashville man is suing BetMGM sports, asking to be repaid hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The lawsuit is predicated around what’s known as “self-exclusion,” or the ability for someone to voluntarily ban themselves from all online betting platforms in Tennessee.

A person can do that either through a form with the state, or through a specific sports betting app.

In this case, the man is claiming he had put himself on the state’s exclusion list for 5 years, but the Tennessee Sports Wagering Council, for unknown reasons, removed him earlier than his requested 2026 date.

The man was then allowed to place multiple bets on BetMGM, despite placing himself on their exclusion list as well.
