BILLINGS — One Montana State Billings cross country runner remains in a Spokane-area hospital after a single-vehicle accident on Friday night as the team was en route to the Whitman Open in Walla Walla, Washington.

Six members of the team were initially admitted to Spokane-area hospitals for injuries as a result of the wreck involving one of three minivans transporting 18 men’s and women’s cross country runners to the Whitman College meet that was to be held on Saturday.

As of Saturday afternoon, MSUB athletic director Mike Bazemore told The Billings Gazette and 406 MT Sports two of those injured were still hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
