ADAMS COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) - The Adams County Sheriff’s Office says seven people who were riding in a horse-drawn buggy were hurt when a Jeep crashed into them, throwing them from the buggy on Tuesday night.

Sheriff Dan Mawhorr says the crash happened around 11:20 p.m. at SR 218 and CR 000 in Berne. When officers arrived, they say they found a Jeep in a ditch on the south side of the road and a buggy that several people had been thrown from.

Mawhorr says police found that the driver of the Jeep, 33-year-old Bradley Ocilka of Kentucky, was headed eastbound on SR 218, just east of CR 000, when the crash happened. Police say instead of slowing down and passing the buggy, he crashed into it.

The buggy was carrying a total of nine people at the time of the crash, six of whom were minors. Mawh
