Terrifying moment car bursts into flames in supermarket car park

This is the moment a car burst into flames in a supermarket car park in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Commercial Street in Rothwell at 8.37am this morning, after they received reports of a car on fire. One crew, from Rothwell, attended the car fire and managed to put it out.

One eyewitness reported the fire was "very scary" as much of the front of the vehicle was engulfed in flames. Video footage of the fire shows flames emerging from the front of a parked car.

Black smoke can be seen billowing into the sky as people avoid the car. Smoke was seen escaping from the engine compartment as the car's lights flashed.
