HAGERSTOWN, Md. (DC News Now) -- A man from Hagerstown was arrested after investigators determined he intentionally set a fire inside a storage unit, hurting somebody, officials said.
On Thursday, just before 8 a.m., crews from the Halfway Volunteer Fire Company responded to a building fire at Halfway Self Storage, located at 17324 Virginia Ave. There, they saw an 8-by-40-foot storage unit on fire.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire and extinguish it before it spread to adjacent units.
Deputy State Fire Marshals responded to the scene and learned that a suspect, 23-year-old Leviathan Godwin, had been inside with a female victim. They had been arguing before the fire started.
