MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Vice Chairwoman Jana Swearengen-Washington is teaming with The Neighborhood Hero (NBHDHERO) to provide free haircuts for youth.

Officials said the events are held every Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to support families.

Organizers said children 18 and younger are prioritized at the following locations:

Orange Mound Community Center, 2572 Park Avenue

Glenview Community Center, 1141 S. Barksdale Street

The event is part of Councilwoman Swearengen-Washington’s ongoing commitment to community uplift, engagement and resources that directly benefit Memphis families, according to a press release. NBHDHERO is donating its time and skills to ensure as kids receive haircuts, officials said.
