MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) - Vermont Gov. Phil Scott announced on Friday he is appointing a special prosecutor to deal with the backlog of cases in Chittenden County, many involving repeat offenders.
The move comes after the governor met this week with Burlington Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak to discuss public safety issues related to homelessness and drug use that are plaguing the Queen City.
