HERNANDO, Miss. - A Byhalia man was arrested for shooting into an occupied residence, the Hernando Police Department said.

Police said Dequavuin Tae'jon Malik Lewis was charged in connection with an early morning shooting in the Northwood Hills subdivision on Oct. 9.

Lewis was booked into the DeSoto County Jail on a $150,000 bond.

According to Hernando police, the Olive Branch Police Department and DeSoto County Sheriff's Department assisted in the search and arrest.

Police said this shooting was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.

The investigation is ongoing.
