WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A contractor will close the U.S. 52 southbound ramps at Hanes Mill Road for about a month beginning at 1 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, as part of the NCDOT Hanes Mill Road Widening Project.

Work is expected to be completed by 11 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, weather permitting, according to the city of Winston-Salem.

The closures will allow crews to construct tie-ins for new ramp and loop alignments. The contractor will handle all traffic control, and signed detours will be posted for both the on-ramp from Hanes Mill Road to U.S. 52 southbound and the off-ramp from U.S. 52 southbound to Hanes Mill Road.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and use alternate routes during construction.
