DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine (WABI) - We’ve been hearing from farmers around the state about the devastating effects of the drought.

Now, a restaurant owner in Dover-Foxcroft is joining that list.

They’ve been closed since the end of September due to a dry well.

“September 28th, after a 166 waffle day, we ran out of water,” says Michael Begley, owner of Peace Love Waffles in Dover-Foxcroft.

The popular breakfast and brunch spot counts on this time of year for business.

“This was certainly a time of the year to capitalize on as far as people coming up to look at the foliage,” he says.

But Begley says their ancient well system had a different plan.
