ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) -- One of Enterprise's busiest intersections is about to undergo a long-awaited upgrade.

Soon, a new traffic light will be installed at the intersection of Shellfield Road and State Highway 27, enhancing traffic flow and providing much-needed safety improvements.

The project is anticipated to begin construction on October 14, 2025.

This project has long been a local and regional priority and is a component of the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program II (ATRIP-II).

The City of Enterprise, Alabama, showed its strong commitment to enhancing public safety and infrastructure by contributing $400,000 to cover engineering and design expenditures.
