WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - The Wichita City Council has renewed its contract with the tourism group Visit Wichita for 2026.

This year, the group promoted Wichita as a sports destination, generating an estimated $33 million from the 16 major events they were involved in. They're going to continue this trend by hosting events like the U.S. Youth Soccer Championships.

"I think it's important with the growth that's happened in Goddard - with the growth that's happening in Park City - that we really look holistically at the region and we think about - what does the region need to continue to drive visitors and economic impact for the community," Visit Wichita's president and CEO Susie Santo said.
