CLINTONVILLE, Wis. (WBAY) - The Clintonville Police Department is showing off the title belt as it claims the lead -- for now -- in the challenge that has police departments across the state in “cop”-etition.

The Police Lights of Christmas raises money to provide gifts to families in need for the holiday season.

Clintonville police called out WBAY on social media after we glossed over their entry in our initial report.

They called in the big guns, hometown boy and former WBAY anchor Bill Jartz, for reinforcement.

They boast they’re the only department with a celebrity and an endorsement.

Clintonville police have raised more than $4,000 so far. The Pulaski Police Department is in second place with $3,900.
