GRAND FORKS — Dash cam footage obtained by WDAY News shows a roughly seven-minute police pursuit on May 7 that cut through residential neighborhoods and Lincoln Park on a warm evening.

The chase began when a Grand Forks officer clocked 22-year-old Martin Romo driving 70 mph on DeMers Avenue, nearly twice the speed limit. When police lights activated, Romo sped off into rush-hour traffic, continuing through a residential neighborhood while his passengers posted videos to social media.

Romo drove over 60 mph on narrow roads, then through Lincoln Park, where people were disc golfing, running and children were playing. He drove off the trail onto the grass to avoid spike strips.
