FARGO — Residents in the Roosevelt and Horace Mann neighborhoods shared their concerns about safety with Fargo police during a meeting Wednesday night, Oct. 15, at Roosevelt Elementary.
While the discussion centered on north Fargo, some questions extended to the downtown area, where police said they have invested significant resources. Officials noted that several major crime categories are trending downward.
“Do we have crime? Yes, we have crime, but this is a very safe city, and when things happen, we’re also on top of it,” Fargo Police Chief David Zibolski said.
One major concern raised was speeding along 10th Street North near Roosevelt Elementary. Resident Seth Holden called the stretch of road a drag strip.
“It’s quiet and then I can see that light turn and the engines are loud.
