SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) - Three new cases of measles have been reported in Spartanburg County since Tuesday.

The new cases bring the total number of cases this year to 19 in the Upstate. The total number of cases in the current outbreak is now 15.

The South Carolina Department of Public Health said all three cases were close contacts of known cases and have been quarantining at home.

Health officials said none of the three were in school settings while contagious and that since they were quarantining before they became infections, no additional exposures have occurred.

The ongoing measles outbreak resulted in more than 150 students from two Upstate schools quarantined at home. As of Tuesday, health officials said that number had dropped to 139.
