FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) -- A 15-year-old Florence resident is in state Department of Juvenile Justice custody after shooting several vehicles and a building early Saturday morning, police said.

The incident happened in the 100 block of West Evans Street. Authorities said nobody was hurt. Officers were already on scene clearing a crowd from the downtown area when gunshots were heard and people began running away.

Police saw the juvenile conceal a handgun and then ran away during a foot pursuit, where he threw the weapon. Authorities said the incident stemmed from a verbal argument.
