SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A woman remains in critical but stable condition after Springfield police say she was shot outside Club Rodeo, a popular nightclub in west Springfield.

Mariah Strickland, who was at the club last night, says she was about to leave when she heard shots ring out.

"We had just left the gates, and my friend knows a lot of the security and the bouncers. She had turned around to talk to [an employee] and they were talking, and I was just kind of like in my own world, and that's when I hear at least two shots, and I kind of froze," Strickland said. "I looked at my friend and she turned around and looked at the bouncer and said, 'Were those gunshots?', and the bouncer looked at us and said, 'Get inside immediately."
