A four-vehicle crash on the M8 has led to delays of 45 minutes. ‌

The multi-vehicle incident happened at junctions five and four eastbound on the motorway at around 7.15am this morning Monday, October 20, near Harthill. ‌

One lane is blocked on the busy road, with traffic currently passing on the other lane slowly. Emergency services are on the scene. ‌

It is unclear at this stage if anyone was injured as a result of the incident.

An image shared by Traffic Scotland shows cars and lorries bumper to bumper as traffic slowly approaches the incident. ‌

A road sweeper was sent to the scene to remove debris from the road caused by the crash.
