One person has died and another is critically injured after a crash on Albany Avenue in Hartford late Sunday night, according to the fire department.

Hartford firefighters responded to a two-vehicle crash in the area of 1510 Albany Ave. around 11:59 p.m. Sunday and found a car on fire, one person who had been thrown from a vehicle and another person who was trapped in the other vehicle, according to the fire department

They requested multiple ambulances.

One person had been in the vehicle that was on fire and firefighters found the person lying in the middle of the road with critical injuries.

Paramedics treated the person and took them to a local hospital. Firefighters put out the car fire.
