Harley Pearce, the son of England football legend Stuart Pearce, has died at the age of 21 following a tragic tractor accident. The incident occurred last Thursday on a country road near the family home in Wiltshire.
Emergency services were alerted to the collision on the A417 Old Birdlip Hill at approximately 2.30pm. Gloucestershire Police confirmed that Harley sadly died at the scene in Witcombe.
Authorities have stated that they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, including a potential tyre blow-out that may have caused Harley to lose control of the vehicle. Investigating officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
Stuart Pearce and his ex-wife Liz have been informed of the tragedy and are receiving support from specialist officers. Harley was the youngest of their two children, with an older sister named Chelsea. The couple was married for 20 years before separating in 2013.
Harley was known for running his own business, Harley Pearce Agricultural Service, which involved working on farms across the Wiltshire and Gloucestershire border.
Stuart Pearce, who earned 78 caps for England during his football career, played for clubs including Nottingham Forest, West Ham, Manchester City, and Newcastle United. He is currently a well-known pundit and commentator for England and Premier League matches.
The community mourns the loss of a young life, and further updates on the investigation are expected as authorities continue their inquiries into the incident.
