NEWNAN, Ga. — An 11-year-old child who was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Newnan on Sunday was riding a bike at the time of the incident, according to police.
The Newnan Police Department on Monday offered a few more details on the incident, in which the child was life-flighted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
According to Newnan PD, the accident happened on Roberts Road a little after 2:30 p.m., when the child was reportedly riding along the LINC path then "entered the roadway in front of the vehicle, causing the collision."
There were no witnesses, police said, though "several individuals in the area reported hearing the crash."
The driver was described as "fully cooperative with investigators." The department said the incident remains under active investigatio
