SEQUIM — A 15-year-old student was taken into custody and placed at the Clallam County Youth Center after threats were posted anonymously on social media, the Sequim Police Department said.
The police department was alerted to threats against several Sequim School District students on Sunday as well as general remarks about a possible school shooting “tomorrow.”
“Our officers immediately coordinated efforts with the school district staff, the involved students and their parents, and the social media platform to identify the source of these threats,” the police department stated in a news release.
The 15-year-old was identified as a person of interest, the police department said.
“It appears this student acted alone and there have been not further threats,” the police department said. “
