FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The suspect of a deadly hit-and-run incident on the West Virginia Turnpike has been arrested, according to West Virginia State Police.

WVSP said that Anthony Hay, 60, of Huntington, was arrested in Wayne County for hit-and-run resulting in death today, October 20.

Hay is accused of hitting a tractor-trailer and killing Jack Walter, 63, of Middlesex, NC, on October 3 near the Mahan area.

Police said after an initial investigation of the hit-and-run incident, Walter had been hit by Hay’s vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Walter had been pulled from his vehicle off the roadway due to a mechanical problem, and Hay’s vehicle struck Walter and did not remain on the scene, according to WVSP.
