ROCHESTER, Minn. — Pete Giesen, deputy county administrator for Olmsted County, will retire on December 23, 2025, after a remarkable 42-year career. County officials say Giesen has been instrumental in leading the Physical Development division since 2018. Giesen's journey began in Public Health, where he played significant roles, including director from 2011 to 2017. He also served in the General Government division before his current role. “Pete has been a trusted leader, collaborator, and advocate for the well-being of our community,” said Olmsted County Administrator Travis Gransee. Tony Hill, the current division administrator for Physical Development, will succeed Giesen. Hill has been with Olmsted County since 1996 and became division administrator in 2024. A
