MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) - A fiery crash shut down an interstate in Murfreesboro on Monday night.
The Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department reported the closure on Interstate 840 East at about 7 p.m.
A two-vehicle crash at Exit 55 caused the closure.

The crash resulted in one of the vehicles catching fire.
“Occupants of both vehicles are being treated on scene by Rutherford County EMS. Please seek an alternate route,” MFRD said at the time of the crash.
The interstate reopened about 30 minutes later.
