WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Wichita’s City Council could take action Tuesday on measures of accountability for bad landlords that could improve conditions for tenants.

Proposed updates could mean stricter code enforcement, a database for repeat offenders and requiring property owners to accept “Section 8″ vouchers.

Councilman Brandon Johnson said he’s tired about hearing of problem properties, but a group of property managers are skeptical about possible chances to the ordinance.

Johnson said these changes are crucial for improving Wichita’s housing situation.
